Local EGGPLANT are at their best at the moment. They are not always the easiest vegetable to cook but success really starts before you buy.  Only purchase ones that are young, shiny and firm.  If the skin gives when you press with your thumb, DO NOT BUY!!

Typical winter August morning, one that visitors from the southern states just love.   the Little Cellar Rat is roasting eggplant cubes, ready for Pasta Alla Norma.  These beautiful purple gems were part of the swapsies amongst fellow stallholders at the close of TASTE BUNDY FARMERS MARKET ON THE WEEKEND.
