Lost your Basil during the heat of summer?  Hopefully you’ve saved some seed from last year’s crop.  Plant shallow in a pot, water lightly and watch the little ones come up.

In the meantime, BASIL PESTO is a saviour.  Pop some into your pasta sauce and add to salad dressings to make them sing.  In a creamy dressing, pesto gives a wonderful complexity to even the simplest potato salad.
